Mission accomplished: 2/9/2006 UK : Design museum chooses the Citroën C6
The Design Museum in London is internationally acclaimed for its displays of contemporary and modern design and since its foundation by one of the 20th century's most influential designers, Sir Terrance Conran, in 1989, millions of visitors have visited the museum to see the designs and technology that have shaped and influenced our lives and the designs that the Museum believes will be influential in coming decades.
The Design Museum has already played host to a display dedicated to the Citroen DS and its influences on a wide range of car designs and now its successor, the Citroen C6, has been chosen as the automotive theme design for 2006. The French car maker is also providing support for talks and debates at the museum by leading and inspirational designers, as well as for the prestigious Designer of the Year award.
"Citroën has a wonderful design heritage dating all the way back to the Traction Avant in the 1930s and the DS 19 in the 1950s, which makes their association with the Design Museum very exciting," explains Katie Galloway, Head of Development at the Design Museum. "We are, therefore, delighted to welcome Citroën to the Design Museum Talks programme and look forward to working with them."
The Citroën C6 will form part of a striking display at the main entrance to the museum, positioned inside a display, the Design Museum 'Tank', which has become an icon in its own right - making the Citroën C6 a design icon inside a design icon ! - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
