At this stage I think BMW has and will have the leading position in terms of design, their designs are a mix of their history such as the circular headlamps (emphasised by angel eyes) and the Hofmeister kink and its distinctive side swage line, which are things dated way back in history, while adding mixes of new elements such as flame surfacing, ultra short front overhang and a relatively wide wheel arch. The CS concept and M1 Hommage shows how much potential they've got in their pockets.

Mercedes is the most harmonious, i mean, it always look good and classic, but imo that is from the Eclass onwards, the Cclass and things below it I reckon are a bit too small to excel the 'classic' and sleek harmony that is in their design element, so something is missing for those smaller models... well, MB never made small cars until the 190E. I'd say the details are not as detailed as BMW's, but often turns out looking better and easier to accept overall.

Audi, recent designs, they look good, but a bit boring, 1 sausage in different lenghts lately. And I guess their history isn't as strong as the other two, so there isn't much to follow, for example their DRL is quite random, while the 4-square tail light is more meaningful. R8 is great though.

Ok.i Will Will Explain: For Example If We Take Mercedes S Class Or E Class Or Even A C Class ...in All The History Of Mercedes Even The 90's Models And Look At It Today In The Street U Feel And Notice That The Model Become Classy And Sooo Mercedes Among The Years..and U Start To Love It...

What I Mean Is : When Mercedes Make A New Model ...u Start To Love It After U Start To Live With ...while Bmw Model Excite Me When It's New And Fresh In The First 3 Years ..after 10 Years It Looks Like Volvo..and I'm In Doubt If U See It On The Road....it's Not Boxy And Massive Like A Rock ...the Thing That We See In Benz Models.

Thats is pure personal. Not everyone love Mercedes for the first time (I still think CLS is ugly) and there is also people who like a BMW for the first time they see it.

E46, E39 and Z8 still look good and they are no longer being built.

GUYS u missed the point i mean mb models becomes classic among the years ...and grows in eyes... even if u didnt love it when it rvealed ...while bmw models and audi...never becoms classic ...for example...the 318 of the 1987 was really a classic design and the 7er from the 1996 was too...the others models are not....i think that bangle made changes in bmw design but in my opinion the test is after 10 years from now how the x6 and the 7er willl look like....out dated and japanees

Sorry, I have to disaggree!!

There are a lot of BMWs that become really classics…the BMW 507 for example. So, maybe a problem is, that there much more Mercedes on the oldtimer markets then BMW - there is no chance to see so many classic BMWs then Mercedes' - although there are a lot!!!
And Audi has the problem, that it is (compared to BMW and Mercedes) an extremely young company. But their cars will become classics - definitely. And especially todays BMW will have the chance to become classics, because of their special design language.

this i quite a tough one as i am a mb fan as most off you no..

well firstly i remove audi from the three as i like auids they look nice i van not really say hey this or that audi looks ugly.but i find them very simalar and not bold or something different except the r8 8they all very simalar and if you are a car fan you could even mistake a a6 for a a8 or something like that..at the same time i think they do have good designs but i think they need to move a step or two up in terms off design...

ok i personaaly find mb the best off the two firstly which is importanat ifyou look at a ten year old mb on the road it still looks classy and elegant even if you look at a w124 or a w123 merc which are 20 to 30 years old they still look classic ..now with the old bmws they dont carry that except one or two models.....

ok now on the current cars i think ths cls is a beauty the sl same the cl the same the s could have been better the current e is classic but some may find the current e a bit boring.. the slk i think is sexy i love the new c class i think it looks brillaint...with the suv obviously i like the gl i own one the ml is also nice...overall allmbs i like or love exceppt the ugly r classs and i dont like the a classs...


with the bms

the 7 i dont like the x6 is fantastic design i like the x5 but its bit bland in terms off the last and current x5 dont like the x3

the 5er is ok in some colors and the 3er too me is a biggest dissapointment to me its very bland and its not sporrty nor classy ..

to me the biggest dissapointment is the 3er

i am also not a fan off the 6er


all in all i love the mb designs i hatethe r class i saw one in real the front is horrible

i like teh cs concept and i dont like the f700 concept

mb is giong well ...the new glk is showing this ...and it grows on me..and i think it's a very well done work by merceddes ..the e will have the same character in the new model the same is the clk ........
