What people say in univercity is that an architect is someone who doesn't have the balls to become a civil engineer or is not gay enough to become a designer..  (no offence) |

Awesome designs just think that they would be pretty distracting if I was in them. I wouldn't be able to look away from all the designs aspects and probably miss the show! |

I was reading Centurion's blog - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER, and I saw these pictures from a photo shoot for Gucci   I immediately recognized the building as the famous Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in Rome.  It was built in 1938 and is a magnificent example of 'Fascist Modernism'. It is a very powerful and monumental building using vast amounts of travertine marble. With obvious Nationalistic overtones, it clearly makes bold reference to the arches from the great buildings of Classical Rome.  |

 New York's Chrysler Building sale is complete On the 12th of June WAN reported that a majority share of the Chrysler Building was to be sold to Abu Dhabi Investment Council. Now, less than a month later the deal has been done. Bloomberg have reported that the sale was completed yesterday in a move that symbolises Abu Dhabi’s strength on an international platform. TMW, the German arm of an Atlanta investment company who owned the Art Deco icon sold their 75% share to oil-rich Abu Dhabi for an undisclosed price yesterday, although it was believed in June that the cost would be approximately $800million. Tishman Speyer Properties hold the last quarter share of the building and as part of the deal are to remain in control of the building.
