When will the people will stop considering cars as utility tools. Especially premium cars are not all about utility. And Mini definitely is premium in its class.

Just like any other product in the market cars as well can be bought due the (brand) image, not practicability.

This is the same guy who called the Golf GT "...one of the 5 worst cars in the world", despite having spent the entire test with the Winter button engaged (dramatically reducing power and torque to frustrating lows - OK for snow only)!!!

He really needs his own editor to stop inadvertently blabbing off some bulls..t and looking like a fool for doing so (unless that's his 'charm'?). I haven't read the Clubman article, but already doubt Jeremy's credibility before doing so.

I'd have to agree with him. Mini clubman is useless car. It's not big enough to be a proper car and not small enough to be as fun as the regular version. Let's not even mention the rear of the car, which is downright hideous. I feel sorry for the people who buy a clubman.

You don't have to drive a car to dislike the concept behind a car. And at least with me (and I imagine with most others) I don't like the Clubman conceptually. Keep mini mini!

Expecting from Mini to be one-model brand is completely insane & a complete utopia. Too expensive. A complete family of various models, or nothing.

Like I posted a while ago: even the original Mini was offered in various variants (hatch, wagon, cargo van, pick-up, sedan, off-roader).

I don't like it but i don't hate it either. Some cars are not represented by white or black in my mind but by grey.

Don't feel sorry because it is their choice, just have a laugh at them when you see someone driving around in a Clubman

I am not a fan of the clubman either. Those rear doors do block the driver's rear vision. I know there is massive cost issues involved with the relocation of the fuel tank flap but to have the side door only on the Right hand side is potentially dangerous on RHD markets. It is dangerous for both the passengers exiting the car and other drivers on the road.

The Clubman is a pointless car and is only being revived for a novelty factor. No other manufacturer would manufacture something like it today. I doubt that BMW would create a Clubman version of the 1er. It's a useless car and people will only buy it because it's a Mini.
