Well I think the big part as to why they like the 55k's more is they didn't have to invest a lot of money to make them even faster.

The change in philosophy will allways cause disgrunted/disapointed people.
It's not just MB fans, remeber the "burn Bangle on a stake" "debate". Also, the 3 litre TT was done is such way so as not to offend/upset to many fans. And allmost all of us jumped on Eni when he told us about ///M cars and AWD.

It's not some isolated incident mate, tough the MBWorld boys, well some of them seem too ...

The vast majority of posters on mbworld OWN their benz or AMG. And that particular bunch of E55/CLS55 owners are especially proud of their cars and motor. Whenever a new model comes out to replace an older one, the owners of the older one naturally become defensive and question the new model: is it REALLY better than the old one?...they question the widom of MB to use a naturally aspirated engine, they question the transmission, they question the styling, etc, etc.

I see this on other forums too, like M3forum, where they have been questioning the use of a big V8 in the next M3, saying the E46 M3 will be last TRUE M3 in spirit, etc, etc. When the 335i was announced, some people claimed BMW was going to the dark side by offerring a car with forced induction.....it never ends.

Ultimately, most newer models are better than the models they replace. It's called progress and completely expected, IMO.

but here you have it black on white that the CLS63 is just as fast as CLS55 and faster to 150mph. But it doenst thelp, now they scream bullshit. No some members there are simply too much

Hay, thanks for posting the link Merc1, Those MBworld members are something else. I believe one of the main reasons thay like the 55 cars is because you can supertune them like crazy! The AMG 5-speed transmission
can handle sh*t loads of unspeakable power and the Kompressor itself
a tuner work to just keep adding hp without making huge modifications.

The 7G is very limited in the 6.2liter V8 to begin with.. Tuners call these limites "low headroom"
