M cars dont run rings around AMG, not over RS cars either. M cars just has the edge on a track.
Brakes on M cars dont fade on public roads but they have a tendency to fade on a track after a couple of laps on a track (but so does many cars that goes around a track). Ceramic brakes arent even an option for M cars.

as just me says..they would hardly fade on public roads..
and most BMW M drivers dont take their car to the track..even though BMW fans like to belive so..

But if you wanna brag about a M cars track capabilitys, then brakes should not fade.. and there is always room for improvement..so mark my words that the next M car will have killer brakes..no doubt..

In all car intervjuves with M-division questions about the brakes are popular. BMW always try to defend why they arent using better brakes, better pistons (or whatever its called).

Whats their response? Why are they not using better brakes? One of the reasons for reducing the number of callipers would be weight right? But why have they failed to explore ceramics etc. to produce brakes as good as porsche? It seems perculiar since the rest of the car seems to be engineered to the nth degree.

Yes, until the AMG comes out with a manual gearbox and are willing to give up some of that autobahn cruising comfort in their cars, magazines like EVO will always find that there is "something missing" when pushing at the limits.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: this is a bit irrelevant because these cars will rarely ever be put to their handling limits on everyday roads. Even on a track, most drivers aren't skilled enough to take these cars to the limits safely.

I agree. I think I'll have to go get this issue too, seems to be a MB fest, just like the July issue of Automobile Magazine.

Maybe costs are the reason, or maybe the argements with some supliers.
Don't worry, competition will force them to do so.
