Despite the previous CL showing its age now, it is still one of my favorite Benzes of all time.

The current CL rear has yet to grow on me. I am not a big fan of the taillights, though with the AMG package it looks a lot better.

Overall it is a classy looking car, but a little boring without the AMG, but with the AMG it looks stunning.

I love it the way it is.

In AMG it doesn't look better, it looks completely different, way meaner and sportier. In standard, it way classier, much more elegant.

I prefer it standard. And i already saw both IRL.

Of course, a grey CL with small rims, suspensions settings to "high" and a weird pic angle won't look as good as a perfectly shot black AMG CL with 20". But take a standard CL with a dark colour, the right 18" or 19", and you have a superb vehicle.

The old CL still looks superb, but I prefer the new one (especially the C126-like front).

I agree - I love it in AMG trim, but the standard (esp. front) bumbers are old fashioned and boring..

The previous CL was one of the classiest designs ever.

The new one is a little bloated, IMO. It looks good in the sport edition. The standard front bumper is very dull, and lacks any design creativity. And it shows on the used market. It is very hard to move one unless it has the sport package.

Guess most of us agree in standard trim,the CL LOOks.....DULL...The poinbt is, why spend soo muc money and then rely on an AMG Pack or after market rims...Merc should have taken more time and made the car look good standard,like hw they did the S Class..

IMHO The CL Standard is the ugliest looking vehicle in the Line up..(OOps,,, I 4got the R, The CL is the 2nd Ugliest)

The car truly comes alive in AMG Form..It looks breathtaking...

I think it has to do alot with the rims,without the AMG cladding but with nice set of 19 or 20 aftermarket rims and the car is massively nice looking and of course it looks off the charts with the AMG guise

Well how else do you expect it to look in its most bland combination of silver exterior and basic 17 inch rims. I love the car with and without AMG kit like with ever car it come down to rims and colour. Go see your local MB dealer.

I have said it from the first time i have seen the official pics: The standard car is a failure, especially for the side profile who make the car look like a big piece of cheese that has melted. The AMG improves it dramaticaly but that's far from being enough, the previous car was on a whole other level , it was the epitome of the timeless elegant design.

The previous CL, I believe, was Bruno Sacco's last design.

The current on isn't a failure. It will be interesting to see how the facelift addresses some of its issues.
