That's just silly. If you want a sporty Cayenne, get the turbo. I can understand Porsche cashing in on the SUV market and appreciate that it is good for the rest of their endeavors, but this kind of market splitting is getting silly. Those add on pieces under the bumpers and the side sills look cheap.

BTW anyone notice that the Cayenne engine makes its debut soon in the Daytona Protoype Class in the upcoming Grand-Am Race? Porsche is not allowing thier name to be used, but the car will be called a Fabcar-Cayenne.

Until the Q7 V12 TDI gets here, this is the only SUV that matters. When the Q7 V12 TDI does get here, this will be the only SUV that matters by a a margin. This is the Cayenne for people who don't need the quasi GT Turbo variant, but want something more focused. We'll see how this idea translates in journals.

With the new Cayenne GTS, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany, is reiterating the successful Cayenne series’ prominence in the sporty - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER segment. The model, which celebrates its world debut at the IAA in Frankfurt, features an enhanced 4.8-liter V8, has been lowered by 24 millimeters and has a specially developed chassis: it is the first Cayenne to feature the electronically controlled damping system, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), with steel springs. This combination was previously reserved exclusively for Porsche sports cars. The 4.8-liter engine with direct gasoline fuel injection (DFI) in the Cayenne GTS yields 405bhp (298 kW) at 6,500 revolutions per minute – 20bhp more than in the Cayenne S. Maximum torque remains unchanged at 500Nm at 3,500 revolutions per minute.

This car has a horrible add on bodykit look to it, just look at those side skirts, It looks like a cheap after thought.

Bright colours never work on the Cayenne, and this red just made the entire car look even worse. The interior looks very cheap and dated now, the interior of the Touareg is much better.

Porsche need Cayenne 2 pretty soon, when the X6 is on sale, I don't think anyone will be buying a Cayenne. Porsche/VW should follow what BMW has done with the X5 and X6. The next gen SUV for both companies should be built on the same basic platform but with completely different exterior shape, similar to the difference between the X5 and the X6.
