I'm expecting brake rotors and pads on the GT3 soon to set me back quite a bit. Had the clutch replaced on my Gallardo at 1100 miles (under warranty).

As expensive as all that is, service for a race car is much more expensive. My 914-6 has cost me about $75,000 to prepare and race (not including track fees, race registrations, transport, etc) in the last 10 months.
Am I correct in accuming that it is very common for the Turbos to leak oil? Is there some level of leaking that is just there and should be acceptable or are all leaks no-nos. The reason for asking this is because a sales person pretty much led me to understand that if I buy the 1989 911 RUF BTR conversion he's got available, that I should expect some small leaking.

What kind of racing do you do? I hope you don't mind me asking the question but I am pretty clueless when it comes to car racing. My knowledge is limited to the racing covered by the media and I realize that that's not all there is.

Someone once said that the measure of being able to afford a supercar is whether you have enough extra money to buy two.

There arent many Zondas in the world but I seriously doubt all these has been 100% bulletproof. All cars need things fixed sometime, all cars have stuff exposed to wear (förslitningssaker), that happens also to Lexus you know

I still doubt it. if the car been driven then some things need to be fixed sooner or later, 100% bulletproof cars dont exist unless they only live in the garage

Actually that is the car that they test new parts and settings on so the brakes and clutch have been changed. And the second gear is a bit worn out, otherwise it's just like new and feels like it as well. That's astonishing for a top end car that has been driven roughly everyday I think.

This is the worst case of Pagani quality that I have seen or or heard about. This could just as well be a small accident of some kind.

I think it is fairly common for turbos to leak, but they do not have to. There are places they leak that are easy to fix (like on my 94) and places that require more work and the engine coming out of the car. All the leaks can be repaired however.

I race in the HSR (Historic Sportcar Racing) series.
