***Mühldorfer Classic Car Show (Part 8)*** (56K Warning)

Part 8

We begin with an old Saab from what appears to be tha late 1960s or early 1970s. This and the Volvo 66DL were the only Swedish cars at this show.

An R107 Mercedes SL with the ugly US-spec sealed beam headlights. Terrible. So he changes the lights, but he leaves the bumpers in Eruo-spec mode...

VW Beetle and an Opel Manta Type A

A classic Porsche in racing stripes...

Alfa Romeo 2000 GT

Porsche 356 and a Goggomobil

Porsche 944, a personal favorite of mine. Love this body style!

A Mercedes 190SL

BMW 3.3L and a BMW 325i

Opel Commodore, a very attractive premium car in its day. Interesting how Opel went from being a BMW and Mercedes competitor to a producer of mainstream cars in the 1980s.

Various BMWs

Matra Murena, a French exotic car producer. This car used a 2.2-l Turbo Peugeot engine.

This was BEAUTIFUL! Classic Maserati Quattroporte sedan. Just lovely. Look at this thing! The owner even allowed me to seat myself into the front passenger seat to take some interior pictures. One of my favorite cars from the show!

Dune Buggy???

Chevrolet Malibu Convertible

Ford Mustang

Fiat X1-9

Mercedes 200D (Fintail) and a 190SL also from Mercedes

Wimmer, do you have any idea how many cars were at the show?

Early model Saab 99. My high school home ec teacher drove one (very slowly). Probably still does.

Miami Vice Umbau? What makes people do such things to classic cars?
I just checked mobile.de for Murenas and the most expensive one was €6,500...

I know this car. A customer had one like this once and after work we had a talk about this. If i recall correctly, we should be talking about the car for more than 30mins. At last, he offered me a ride. I accepted it (of course) and i was impressed! Great car despite its age!

Well, "Umbau" translates as "rebuild". Supposedly the owner has wanted to make his car look like the cars on the TV show, so he has extensively modified the car to alter its appearance. Not that it looks anything like a Ferrari Testarossa (which was white, for crying out loud) or a Daytona Spyder. But hey, he couldn't even spell 'Peugeot'.
