New Cadillac CTS @ NAIAS 2007

Sneak Peek: All-New Cadillac CTS

Ed Welburn, GM Vice President, Global Design (left) and Bob Lutz, GM Vice Chairman, Global Product Development, provide a sneak peek of the all-new 2008 Cadillac CTS, which will be fully revealed at Detroit's North American International Auto Show in January. The performance luxury sedan is scheduled to begin production in late-summer of 2007, with worldwide sales to follow in the fall.

Cadillac's first-generation CTS built a strong record of success on many levels since its inception in 2002. Cadillac sold more than 60,000 copies in the U.S. in 2005, compared to roughly 38,000 in 2002, an increase of more than 50% over that period. There are roughly 275,000 CTS owners worldwide, and industry researchers say they are among the most satisfied in the automotive market. AutoPacific rated CTS as the top Entry Luxury Car in its annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards in 2006.

Man, and I thought Audi had big grills...

Nonetheless from what I can see it looks pretty good, I guess, but somebody needs to get the designers over at Cadillac something other than a ruler.

LOL! Yep

I'm not sure if Cadillac knows or not, but it's legal to smooth the design out

Thanks for the new Martin

2008 Cadillac CTS

Quote:
The 2008 CTS continues as Cadillac's entry-level rear-wheel drive sedan, but is two inches wider to accommodate an optional all-wheel drive system - a first for the mid-size Caddy.

The new CTS rides on the same 113-inch wheelbase of the outgoing model, but is larger in all other dimensions. Last year's base 2.8-liter V-6 has been dropped for North America, with the 258-hp, 3.6-liter variable-valve-timing unit now serving as the base engine. An optional direct-injection version of that engine develops 300 horsepower with reduced emissions and improved fuel economy. All 2008 CTSes have six-speed transmissions, automatic or manual.

All-wheel drive models receive an active transfer case, and a limited slip differential is available. All 2008 CTS models have a strut-tower brace like that used in last year's CTS-V, as well as revised suspension, brakes, and steering.

The new CTS features full iPod integration, with USB and auxiliary input jacks located in the center console. Options will include swiveling headlights, Easy Key keyless-go with remote start, a Bose surround system, and DVD-based navigation.

The CTS now also gets the hand-stitched leather treatment familiar in the CTS-V, STS-V, and SRX, replete with French stitching. Seventeen-inch wheels are standard, eighteens optional, and we look forward to getting behind the steering wheel of Cadillac's new import fighter sometime next summer.

Re: New Cadillac CTS @ NAIAS 2007

What the hell is wrong with Cadillac? They've just released a new CTS, and of course they reveal it in the worst colour. Last time I checked orange is for Lamborghini's, not "luxury" cars..

Sorry, just venting
