The regular CTS-v had bad axle hop problems with its 400 hp engine. How bad is that going to be with 500hp?

Re: M5, E63, RS6 watch out !! A new car have arrived.

American magazines always compared this (cts-v) car to M3's etc and the M3 still won.

Re: M5, E63, RS6 watch out !! A new car have arrived.

I really don't get the point of existence, of this Cadillac CTS Super-V.

The STS-V is already a rival for the E55/CLS55 AMG.

Why bother making a "super version" for the supposedly C55 AMG competitor?

I could see the Super CTS-V as rival for the CLK-DTM.

Although, it would be totally pointless, to compare a Sedan without even a racing approach, against a track day ready 2-dr Coupé with the option of a convertible.

I think they should make a lightweight LS2 6.0 V8 400 Bhp CTS-V instead of a 7.0 V8 500 Bhp, that treads on the STS-V shores.

BTW: The "Super-V" name sounds stupid!

I remember a similar sentiment when the Corvette ZO6 was being developed...and look at how stunning it has been. IMO, it still hasn't recieved the respect and praise it deserves, ..but I guess that's coz it's American, and most here are highly biased towards Europeans cars. I'm not saying I'm not biased either... but I've learned to respect the new wave of American cars which are prepared to take on the Europeans. Same thing with Lexus, atleast they're providing significant competition to the Europeans.

That LS7 is a stunner. Sure it may not have the best hp/L figures.. but the ZO6 is testiment to its capabilities. Maybe AMG, M and RS shouldn't really be worried in terms of sales, bceause it's not likely the Cadi' will be a success in Europe... but they should be conscious of GM's intent to take on the Europeans at their game.

(* If you're wondering why the heck I'm trying to defend American cars... must be coz I just came back from a trip to US... aaah... still not de-americanized )

I agree with BeeMer Boi, well said.

BeemerBoi, I know what you're saying about respecting their cars. The corvette definitely deserves all respect, I've said that many times. The main problem with the American's is their reliability.

Do you think that this Super-V will be very reliable? Knowing how their last corvette was, it's not. The M, RS (even though the last S4 sucked in reliability), and AMG cars are reliable. That's the reason people buy those over these because not only are thy wicked fast but people know they will last them a long time.

Re: M5, E63, RS6 watch out !! A new car have arrived.

I don't want to diss the car or anything (nor the 'Vette), it could be better than any German car for all we know (yeah right)...

... but 505 out of a 7.0-litre engine is sad... not as sad as the Viper, but c'mon.
