Ok, this might be a dumb question but I don't know where else to ask for an honest answer.

I have a choice between a C class and a C class AMG model.

The only difference that I heard from my dealer was

1. Rear spoiler
2. AMG marked wheel
3. AMG trunk emblem

Now, is there anything more that's different? Maybe the engine is tuned slightly differently?

I would like to get some justification why I would choose AMG over non-AMG.

I presume you're talking about the W203 C-class. Depending on where you live, there has only been 3 production AMG versions: C30 CDI AMG Sports Coupe, C32 AMG (sedan and wagon), and C55 AMG (sedan and wagon).

If an AMG badge is on the back of any other model, it is NOT really an AMG model. As an option, there is an "AMG sports package" for the normal models, which includes the AMG body kit, rims, and sports suspension. But I don't think an AMG emblem comes with it. If it does have an AMG emblem, it must have been added on after it left the factory.

Cosmetically, the cars with the "AMG sports package" look more sporty. They probably handle a bit better too because of the sports suspension.

Wow, I guess I learn something new here quite regularly. I have not even seen any pictures of the C30 CDI AMG in sedan and estate form. I did know about the C32 AMG sports coupe as a special order, but it was never a full production model, correct?
