I think that's a bit exaggerating... There's no way that a BMW that came 2005 looks more dated than a MB from 2000.

I don't think that the E90 is dated at all. I just think that it [the design] has become too predictable. If you look at the E90 from the rear 3/4 view, you will see what I mean...

They do produce the W203 C Class in South Africa as well - not sure if it is only in right hand drive or if they do left hand drives as well.

I have looked it up on the net - and found the following:

"The Mercedes-Benz C-Class line-up is particularly important to DaimlerChrysler South Africa's Mercedes-Benz division as it represents the company's major export product from its manufacturing plant in East London, situated in the Eastern Cape.

South Africa supplies right-hand drive versions of the C-Class to the world's major markets that drive on the left-hand side of the road, such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and of, course, the South African home market."

Car production from different factories of the same models for so many different countries/markets must be a bitch to coordinate and get right.
