New 2007 C class W204, thread 4

Ive put all the latest pics along with some of the other better pics of the C together and we can start the discussion from here. The C class now seems to be going round in tape so it wont be too long before we see one with very little tape on.

Re: New 2007 C class W204, thread 4

Vivaki - thanks for making a new thread! It was getting a little tiresome for me to wade through all the other threads.

By these pictures, I think it's turning out to be a good looking car, at least from the outside. The inside would be liveable if the materials are nice, IMO.

The VW Passat and Jetta spy pics were ungainly in the rear, and a little styling helps them look somewhat ok. On the other hand, something that looks well proportioned in camo has an excellent chance of looking good in the metal!

That closeup pic of the rear shows that Huck was pretty much on to the idea in his first chops so long ago. Sigh. Luckily the bumper's top line is different, otherwise it would look quite droopy. Huck's front is also pretty close.

Anyhow, shaping up well! I'm looking forward to seeing it for real.

omg....it's a one spoke steering wheel, not a double...just what was needed to transform it into a nice looking wheel...the interior reminds me of the old mercs', that conservative looking, but built-tough high quality feeling...

Isn't it still too early to talk about the quality-feeling or the actual look of the interior when we haven't seen better photos? At this point of testing cars never really show their all beauty.
I hope the steering wheel will look much better than this or the one in S-Class. It looks like it's almost the same style as some of BMW's steering wheels (in 3-series, X3, X5) which are modern and use a lot of plastic as material. I much prefer the current C-Class' steering wheel as I also prefer the E46 sport steering wheel over the E90's. SLK BTW has a great steering wheel, it's modern but still looks very good.
You find it conservative looking? Hmmm... For me it looks like a completely new design as the interior has many features/details that haven't been seen in other MB models. The middle console with the volume (or comand?) knob and the flip-screen are definately new design elements from MB.

BTW are those instruments going to be similar as in E-Class and CLS (big speedo, a clock in the left gauge)? Or is the layout of the instruments going to look more like this:

Funny but the volume/Comand knob reminds me slightly of a similar detail in the new Mini interior as they are both placed in the center of the middle console.

You mean this?

You can ask the guy over at MBWorld if he seen a COMAND controler.

BTW, this looks like an AMG/Sport packaged C-Class. The regular C-Class have that steering wheel in that PS.

Seems like we are moments away from seeing this bad boy uncovered. Looks very suited for a C-Class.

Good move Viv...

True! The interior isn't even covered up and we are seeing with less camo every month. Official shots are bound to leak in the near future.

Re: New 2007 C class W204, thread 4

If there's a Comand controller behind the shifter, it makes more sense.I find it interesting that they chose to use a similar instrument layout as in the last generation M-Class and didn't place a clock in the left gauge as in the E, CLS and CLK.
