Now with 292hp. Now the C350 can really challenge the BMW 335i.

No.Still got a way to be a true rival.

Short on torque and power,The C needs that engine from the SL pushing 315hp and then maybe it can truly rival the 335i and S4.

Good to see it got 5 star rating,now we need Chris or Ree to translate the pros and cons please

Well, its only 14 hp and 35 nm short compare to 335i. The difference between 335i and S4 is a lot larger than that.

BMW 330i only have 272hp/315nm and 335i is cheaper than a C350. Of course the C350 can compare with 335i, but the S4 is in another league.

C350 with more than 300hp seem to be far off. I guess MB are satisfied with 292hp.

The difference on paper is small i know but in real life the 335i is still faster than the C350 and the S4 is just brutal now.

Lets see what MB is gonna do with the all new petrol engines due,hope to see a turbo V6s across the range.

The C350CGI and its DI motor does everything better than the 350. Besides the high pricetag, the lack of place at the rear and the slightly compromised suspension comfort bothered them.

Can anyone confirm if the C350 is going to be for sale in two versions, 272hp and 292hp with BlueE. ?

There will be only one version! The 292 hp C 350 CGI!

It's the same like the CLS! There is also only one engine available!

edit: Just checked the german pricelist! The "old" 350 engine is stil available for the C-Class. It costs about 1.500 € less then this BlueE. engine!

Even so, the C350 CGI is far from a BMW 335i competitor. The BMW will be more biased towards handling and dynamics whereas the C350 CGI will focus more on luxury and comfort. It's always been this way and it won't change as far as I can tell.

Why chance a successful recipe? This goes for both the 3er and C-Class. Let the magazines talk all the trash they want. BMW and Mercedes have the real market research and consumer feedback - they know what their clientele want.
