![]() If I may ask, what's wrong with the old grille? It sounds as if you want to replace the original grille with a sports grille. Do you have an Elegance-spec W204 and wish to add the Avantgarde (Sport) grille to it? If I owned W204 I might be able to help, but I don't. Contact your local Mercedes dealer for help: that's my recommendation. ![]()

Hardest part would be the hood star. Remove it with pliers, should be half turn to line it up and pull straight up through the hood. |

Unfortunately I can't recall whether the upper panel has to be removed or not since it was six months ago but it's easy to remove also. When you remove the hood star to install the medallion, be sure to spread a large cloth across the front of the engine compartment so that when you drop some of the tiny parts holding it in place (oh yes, you will) they don't disappear below. I still miss the view out the front with the star in place. | |
