Fitting a Sports Grill to a W204 C200

Hi,
Need a little help.
I have bought a sports grill for my new C200 (W204) and need some advice on how to take off the old grill and fit the new one.
Many thanks

Welcome to the forums.

If I may ask, what's wrong with the old grille? It sounds as if you want to replace the original grille with a sports grille. Do you have an Elegance-spec W204 and wish to add the Avantgarde (Sport) grille to it?

If I owned W204 I might be able to help, but I don't. Contact your local Mercedes dealer for help: that's my recommendation.

Welcome to the forums man

I don't own one too but i think it's a pretty easy job coz all the elegance cars i see has the grille changed to the avantgarde one so it should be pretty easy thing to do

look for the screws holding on the grill and remove them, pretty straight forward. Hardest part would be the hood star. Remove it with pliers, should be half turn to line it up and pull straight up through the hood.

I changed the grill in my C300 in about ten minutes, once I figured it out. It's held in by a series of snapover (for lack of a better term) clips across the bottom. They are released by sliding a plastic putty knife (non-scratching) under the grille and pulling forward carefully. It pivots out at the bottom.

Unfortunately I can't recall whether the upper panel has to be removed or not since it was six months ago but it's easy to remove also.

When you remove the hood star to install the medallion, be sure to spread a large cloth across the front of the engine compartment so that when you drop some of the tiny parts holding it in place (oh yes, you will) they don't disappear below.

I still miss the view out the front with the star in place.
