Great news for Daimler.

It makes me wonder if the market has shifted slightly. It will be interesting to see if the new E class will continue to be Merc's mainstream model ...or if the C class has taken part of the E's traditional market.

Exactly,the C wasn't available till mid-2007 and without the SW,now with the new diesel engines coming by the end of this year and then the all new V6 and turbo 4 bangers i expect the sales to be leaping

Now if MB would only give the U.S. market a 300+ hp C350, 268hp looks awful next to a host of 300+ hp competitors from BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti and Lexus. MB needs to get with the program!

Good enough(aside from 335i) the C350 is as fast as the CTS and IS but slower than TT I6,i think MB has a goal of offering the new engines later to keep the interest in the car up

They better not make it too much later. It seems as though it isn't happening for the 2009 model year, which is should have considering the 09 SLK350 has a new engine that does wonders for that car.

It's actually faster than the CTS and a little slower than the IS. So if it got a new engine, it would blow the CTS away and probably the IS too.

I'm just wondering why the sweet 315hp unit from the SL isn't in the C? a C350 with 315hp would be just so delicious
