The early W211 models were quite problematic, that was a fact. A friend of ours had a new Mercedes E270 CDI W211 and it was constantly hampered by COMAND failures and other electrical glitches.
Funny thing is he went and returned the car and bought himself a Lexus RX400h. Now he's trying to sell the damn thing because in the winter months its battery depletes like crazy. The reason for this is because he likes to drive into a forest where my dad and his friends play a game of
Eisstockschiessen. He parks the RX400h overlooking the game and watches from inside the car. Naturally he has the seat-heating system on and probably listens to the radio. Twice his RX400h had to be jump-started because his battery was dead.
