Well done MB, Don't agree with the decision but. The C Class doesn't really add anything new and doesn't even beat the competition IMO

Wow, I'm surprised as hell. There was tough competition for this car, but Kudos to MB for winning.

Nice. Now MB needs to complete car. Sportiest suspension setup that we've heard nothing about since launch and the new 305-315hp V6 from either the SLK or SL350. Do it now.

I had a quick flick through the mag today, the M3 lost out because of the lack of efficiency and value (god knows how they think the M3 wasn't an excellent value package), the Mazda 2 lost out because of extremely poor wet weather handing, and the Ford Mondeo lost out because of too many minor faults. The C-class won because of its versitle and strong engine range, advanced technology, ride comfort and superb handling ability.

All perfectly good reasons and very understandable. Busy day monster so didn't get a chance to purchase the mag, is it worth my time and money or have i pretty much got the jist from what you said. Obviously I'll miss out on all he pretty pictures but suffice to say I will survive.

Saw three new MB C Class today again. Have to say I am mightly impressed with the styling. They seem to be selling well in Australia as well which goes to show it is a great car indeed!

I was in the newsagency looking for the mag, and was expecting the C-class on the cover but they wack on a computer generated image of the new XR8 instead. I bought it cause the car of the year section is a thick 76 pages so there is not much choice but to read it at home.

The articles and the analysis are very similar to their COTY issue last year, so if you are only interested in the BMWs and the Mercedes and nothing else, then I guess you can survive without it and read it next month when they upload the articles on the net.

What I have said is pretty much it really, unless you are interested in the rest of the contenders. They have managed to roll the Toyota Kulger, which Toyota didn't take it nicely and basically said the Wheels road test team weren't being professionals.

LOL @ toyota - My grandard drives one of them and his driving isn't the best. Have to get him into something safer I think. What does the XR8 in the CG pic look like. I'm really excited for the new falcon. Should be a good looking car!

I think I'll get the mag ans just read it over time in my office. At the least I'll stare at all the pictures!

Monster mate thanks a million - karma deserved but I have to spread it around first!

Looks amazing doesn't it. Hope it looks like or similar to that!!!

Regards the X6 for my grandad. He put me through medical school pretty much so it would be a nice gift for him. I was thinking more a 3 series sedan. He has always wanted one and I know that he loves the current shape.

I think it is pretty close to the real deal, according to the mag, the ford insider said those fog lights are Lancer EVO 4 sized. Those headlights still look a bit strange to me but the car already looks a million times more attractive than the Commodore SS.

A 335i will do nicely. He will be having a blast around the streets.
