Brabus Mercedes C-Class Wagon at Essen - 11-26-2007, 05:22 AM

Sport wagon

Leave it to Brabus to fine-tune your Mercedes, even if you haven't bought it yet. Brabus, and Carlsson, will be revealing their Mercedes C-Class Estate (S 204) tuning package at the upcoming Essen Motor Show.

Brabus has engine conversions for every engine in the range, the C 200 CDI receives an additional 39 hp, C 220 CDI is bumped up by 50 hp, C 320 CDI will do with another 48 hp, while the gasoline engines are propped up to 332 hp (both the C 280 and C 350 can be equipped with the Brabus 4.0 displacement engine package).

Besides the power boosts, Brabus has a stainless steel quad sport exhaust system for the C Class wagon, 17, 18 or 19 inch wheels and a sport suspension, lowering kits and sport sway bars suited for each size, high performance brake system to handle the extra power, and of course the aerodynamic kit.

The exterior kit consists of a front spoiler reducing lift on the front axis, rocker panels which optimize airflow between the front and rear wheel houses, and rear bumper with special cut-outs for the two dual tailpipes.

Stay tuned for the Essen Motor Show which starts this coming Friday!

Still not crazy about the double fogs, but overall this is one of their tamer creations.

Looking at these pictures it's hard to believe Mercedes lets this company tune their crown jewel, Maybach...

Well they really don't let them do it. There is no formal agreement between Mercedes and Brabus beyond the Smart.

The wide co-operation Mercedes has with Brabus and the fact that they are the biggest Mercedes tuner makes me believe that they could have reached an agreement if they didn't want Brabus to tune Maybach. So in this sense they are kind of letting Brabus do it.

I respect the way these guys tune engines, but they have a lot to learn when it comes to styling. I don't find a single Brabus Mercedes attractive because of their ugly body kits.

I almost agree except G-class. The Brabus does its job perfectly here! I can't find photos but as far as my friend owns one I am totaly in love with it.

No they aren't. There is no formal agreement there. They aren't letting them do anything. Anyone can tune a car once they buy one or if a customer brings them one. Mercedes' official tuner is AMG, not Brabus. To help Brabus in any way wouldn't make sense and would only hinder AMG. Just because Brabus is the biggest Mercedes tuner means nothing in the way of formal agreements having been made. There are about a 1/2 dozen Mercedes tuners, but Brabus just happens to be the best, doesn't mean that Mercedes is ok or helps them.
