I think people are too down on this car, the old C55 did 8:22, put some R tires and it is probably good for sub 8:15. The new car has 100 more HP and I am guessing a better chassis and suspension. That should buy at least another 10 secs - so my vote for something below 8:05.

Hmm,you reasons to make such a prediction are solid,but I would be greatly supreised if C63 achieve 8:05 or better time .

Good point. I think many people just cannot accept even the POSSIBILITY that a C-AMG car will be faster than the legendary M3 on the most important track in the world. Even I voted for a time between the RS4 and E92 M3.

The E46 M3 and W203 C55 had the same laptime around the Ring. With R tires, better handling, and faster acceleration than the E46 M3, the E92 M3 did the Ring in 17 seconds less. From the vast majority of early reviews, it seems the C63 has gained "more" better handling, and "more" faster acceleration from the C55 than the E92 did from the E46 M3. The only negative thing is that the C63 gained a lot more weight (compared to the C55) than the E92 M3 did (compared to the E46 M3).......this is the only thing in the M3's favour.

Put this together and Sunny's prediction may come true......the C63 being faster than the E92 M3 on the Ring.

Now now, let's not get TOO optimistic.

I think there is a possibility that C63 beat the 4-door M3 becuase N-ring suit powerful cars and C63 clearly has the power advantage over M3. Remember that N-ring is a highspeed track.
On smaller tracks were speed isnt as important, the lighter M3 will have the advantage over C63.

Regarding the M3 Coupé. Its not impossible to beat it but that's the task for the next CLK AMG.

My prediction is 8:10-8:12 min.

It seems the laptime for C63 with Performance package is 8.13 min. Nothing official yet but 8.13 min seem to be the Sportauto time.

So close but yet so far. Good effort by MB although the weight and inability of getting all the power to the ground severely bottlenecks the entire car.

^Yeah the weight does affect that car a lot!

But it's amazing how that car goes,it feels sooo much faster than the figures suggests and the sound is just so masculine and aggressive.

I remember when i drove it for like 5 10 minutes on the freeway with a friend,a guy with 997 TT came next to us and his car without any exaggeration sounded too feminine in comparison but it's faster though

When I drove the C63 , I drove past a guy in a 911 Convertible with the drop down. I think I scared the shit out of him when I hit the gas pedal
