Canadian Driver - First Drive: 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

When equipped with the optional Advanced Agility package, in 'Sport' mode, the handling is even better, but the ride is firmer. In Sport mode, the steering becomes sharper, throttle responsiveness is quicker, and the transmission shifts later for improved acceleration and downshifts when braking into a corner. 'Comfort' mode reverts back to the standard suspension, steering, throttle and transmission settings. So you can have the best of both worlds with the push of a button.

Whether or not the new C-Class will challenge accepted performance leaders like the BMW 3-Series remains to be seen, but there's no doubt the new C-Class is more fun to drive - not to mention roomier, safer and more comfortable.

The 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is expected to go on sale in August. Pricing has not been announced, but is likely to be close to the current model.

Im really liking the exterior of this car but Im still not feeling the interior yet. The worst part is the ugly steering wheel.

While i won't doubt the quality, this interior isn't exciting at all! I'm sorry, but better job could have been done... Let alone the steering wheel...

Oh well, nothing is perfect anyway...

Re: Canadian Driver - First Drive: 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I finally realized why some cars do (or have intention to) feature "EMM - eyes movement monitoring" - preventing driver from falling asleep.

Because in some cars either ride is to monotonous, or the interior is so boring that there is a real danger the driver falls asleep.

I hope MB will offer EMM in C-class ASAP.

I like the interior actually... except for the goofy steering wheel.

LOL...
I love the front of the car, it looks so agressive yet serious but other than that there's nothing in that car, the rear makes it look like a toycar, the interior..no need to talk about it..I was excited about this after seen the recent refreshment in MB...
Sometimes I wonder if nobody in MB saw the car before it was produced...

I must admit I'm really liking those rims in the third picture.
