I agree with you though, MB should allow for options. However with this I'm afraid it might increase costs substantially because there would be two versions of an AMG package.

I don't think it'd be too costly. The classic grill doesn't stay on the hood anymore, and judging from the photos I think the structure behind is exactly the same, so all they have to do is install a different grill.

The coupe grill does make the car look a lot sportier. Hey, I'd rather have two grills and switch them out whenever I want. It should be simpler than changing the wheels. Winter grill, anyone?

What about putting a mesh grille? What do you guys think?

Would it look better or would it look too over the top for a MB??

A true mesh grill might be too odd for a Merc. But a perforated grill like those of the old SLK or the new ML (not the AMG version) might be interesting. Let's see, we have Classic, Elegance, Avantgarde. We could call that the Rebellion trim.

Actually, after looking at more pictures of the Avantgarde W204, it looks quite good with the star grille.

Would someone be able to put 2 pics side by side, both Avantgardes with AMG kit but one with the hood star and the other with the grille star?

So we can determine which looks better.
