every car that does below 8 minutes are impressive cars. Does who doesnt know this dont know much about racing on the ring.

8 minutes has always been the magic number for carmakers to achieve since it demans a lot from a car.

Re: Veyron 7.40 min around Nurnburgring

Err, dude, this isn't exactly new news

I believe this happened back in late 2005, but regardless it's amazing. If the CCR can pul 313 km/h on the Dottinger Hohe the Veyron should be able to achieve over 320 km/h easily.. amazing

On the topic, i'd really be interested to see what the Veyron could do in the slalom and especially braking tests. AutoCar's braking figures for the Veyron were superb so the 100 km/h-0 claim of 31.4 metres seem reasonable.

Re: Veyron 7.40 min around Nurnburgring

I'd like to hear what g's the Veyron pull on the ring!

And it's not exactly like every corner is 90 degree turn, there are fast turns as well where the Veyron can make up for alot of lost time. And as mentioned, it has tremendous acceleration, not to mention brakes!

so only 7 and 8 seconds slower on a huge track like the Norderschleife? For a car as heavy as the Veyron? THAT'S AMAZING
Clarkson said it already on Top Gear. It handles like an Elise.

That's certaintly true, Schwedenkreuz on the Nurburgring allows the Zonda F to hit 269 km/h and the CCR 267 km/h.

Yeah, it's not exactly as if the Veyron is a bad handling car, however i doubt it's slalom figures will be as high as the Zonda F or Carrera GT.

On the Hockenheim i wouldn't be surprised if the Veyron beat the Zonda F, i know that sounds crazy to most, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
