| Bugatti Italian born Ettore Bugatti produced his first car in 1899 at the age of 19. In 1909 he started his factory in Molsheim, Alsace. Bugattis were known for their advanced engineering in their premium road cars. The company's success culminated with driver Jean-Pierre Wimille winning the 24 hours of Le Mans twice (in 1937 with Robert Benoist and 1939 with Pierre Veyron). Volkswagen AG purchased the rights to produce cars under the Bugatti marque in 1998. |

I don't expect VW to make anything, if very much money off the Veyron, however w/ a large pool of resources and excellent engineering they'll hopefully come up w/ more intriguing/intersting concepts. However the next best step for them would be to make something that will definately be more profitable than th e Veyron, perhaps something to run along w/ the Gallardo, 911. R9, etc. How funny that all the aforementioned cars should be apart of the Porsche-VW empire.... uhoh, there goes a platform sharing idea.  | |
