Bugatti Italian born Ettore Bugatti produced his first car in 1899 at the age of 19. In 1909 he started his factory in Molsheim, Alsace. Bugattis were known for their advanced engineering in their premium road cars. The company's success culminated with driver Jean-Pierre Wimille winning the 24 hours of Le Mans twice (in 1937 with Robert Benoist and 1939 with Pierre Veyron). Volkswagen AG purchased the rights to produce cars under the Bugatti marque in 1998.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Roadster (400 km/h Hairdryer...) - 08-01-2008, 09:40 AM

For those of you with a penchant for open top motoring (Marcus) who just can't love the Veyron because it doesn't flip its lid - here's something that'll blow your hair back.

Bugatti have surprised by releasing initial information and photos of the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport. Grand Sport is derived from the Sport you'll have watching your Grandmother trying to keep her falsies in while screaming like a banshee at 400 km/h.

Story here on WCF

Yup, Targa, Roadster, GTS whatever you want to call it... That removable roof panel is quite nicely done; it doesn't look out of sorts with the rest of the car at all. In fact, overall I'd say that the Veyron lends itself quite suitably to this sort of concept.

True.

Some refreshment was definitely needed.

But also, i'm really getting sick of those christmas-tree-looking headlights, just like Audi... Oh sorry, i forgot that VAG owns Bugatti.

Also, is it just me or does a Veyron look far better in a single colour (or closely matched colours) than in those horrid contrasting colour paint jobs?

The new LED lights inside the headlights looks a bit contrived, other than that the execution of Taga version is much better than expected.

^ I love it too. The Veyron is a masterpiece of automotive engineering.

Big is beautiful. That car is a marvel. I can hear the Sheiks in Dubai calling their contacts in an attempt to fetch one of these ASAP.
