Bugatti Teams Up with Hermes for Geneva Debut
Bugatti will be using the Geneva Auto Show to introduce what appears to be a new special edition for the Veyron. Teaming up with Parisian-based saddle maker, Hermès, the new Bugatti brings back to life the special relationship between Emile Hermès and Ettore Bugatti of the 1920’s. Using this information it seems likely that the new edition will feature a unique interior crafted by Hermès, while the exterior would be limited to minor cosmetic changes if any.
Recent reports have suggested that Bugatti is building a more exclusive high performance Veyron and a new Royal. Either could be the new model debuting in Geneva but that seems unlikely, so stay tuned for more details. Bugatti’s last special edition Veyron, the Pur Sang, sold out in days. http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080211.011/bugatti-teams-up-with-hermes-for-geneva-debut | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Bartek Sikorski For This Useful Post: | | | GCZ's High Court

Bugatti will be showcasing yet another special edition Veyron supercar at next month’s Geneva Motor Show, this time joining forces with fashion label Hermès to create the unique vehicle. In a similar move to Lamborghini’s - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER, Bugatti is set to revive a relationship between Emile Hermès and Ettore Bugatti that was initiated as far back as the 1920’s.

As for the upcoming Hermès model, we suspect it will feature a more over the top interior with tons of stitched leather and embossed logos. I can't help thinking that this is slightly tacky. If I was to buy a Veyron, I would want it to be precisely to my own specifications -- why would I care about having it embossed with the name of a famous saddle maker? | | | | | Fanatic

I actually think the Hermes partnership could work - they feel like two brands that could play in the same sandbox with a straight face. I think the Versace/Lambo partnership worked out well, and displayed both brand's strengths in a way that never crossed the line.
The way I see it - Sure, it doesn't get much more special than a Bugatti, but VAG has every reason to squeeze exciting press releases out of this car. They sunk a king's ransom into getting this thing to market, so why not get what press you can by making some interesting tweeks, editions and partnerships? I'm not a fan of brand collabs - which have been spreading like cancer in recent years -but if the names involved naturally compliment each other I won't object. | | | | | Me for President

^re: Osna
but this is not a run-of-the-mill luxury product, this is an Über-Premium product -- I really can't see how a collaboration with Hermès will make any difference to sales.
It really just goes to show how even at the highest levels of consumerism, there is no escaping the superficial marketing BS -- and this says a lot about who these types of products are really aimed at -- not people who have been surrounded with bespoke luxury all their lives I would think. This is very much aimed at the recently rich -- and there's nothing wrong with that, but it does usually end up being very predictable and unremarkable. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to SDNR For This Useful Post: | | | Expert

Although I understand your point rob I don't think that Hermés is that tacky at it. As we know the Veyron is Uber exclusive but the fact that this will be a Veyron Hermés edition will make the happy owners sleep a little better. But in the end the whole point of these special editions is to give new people a chance to buy a Veyron because it's sold out big time. So many of the folks standing in line for one will certainly not mind this one, and I'm sure it will be a tasteful SE with very little logos visible. Since the waiting list is long Bugatti is doing this to strengthen and keep the brand name alive. Regardless of how much we know about the car the vast majority of people walking on the streets don't know that the Veyron is. Realistically speaking the people walking on the streets cannot afford one but still. | | | | | GCZ's High Court

We told you about the Bugatti Hermès Veyron - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. At the time, it appeared the uber-special Veyron would just have an ultra high-end interior package. Now, with the first pre-Geneva peek of a Bugatti Hermès Veyron, we are learning the exterior may get some special touches, as well. Although the car in the picture is almost entirely hidden by a blue fabric car cover, two new vertical slats appear flanking each side of the grill, which obviously imply other elements of the Veyron's visage will also change. Are these the only exterior "upgrades" to the million-dollar-plus Bugatti Hermès Veyron? We'll let you know when we see it in Geneva next week. Until then, hit up the source below to see the car covered in full.
