Bugatti is increasing the production of their million dollar super car the Bugatti Veyron. Production numbers will increase from the original "60" cars produced in the first year of the Veyron to a total of "75" annually. A spokesperson for Bugatti stated, "We want to shorten the waiting time from just over a year." One has to think, it will still be arduous to acquire one of these vehicles or even see one on the road with just small increase of 15 cars in the production line, but Bugatti in fact wants to keep the car as exclusive as possible.

While the production numbers for the Veyron have increased, there are currently no plans to “change” the performance of the vehicle. With an incredible 1,000 horsepower one has to wonder if this is enough horsepower to keep the Veyron at the top of the super-car food chain in the twentieth century.

Will the Bugatti Veyron’s clientele want more out of their super car as the production continues to its speculated production run of “300”? For a million dollars I think so.

Some of that is wrong. It is possible to order your Veyron with 1200hp, and has been for a while now.

I didn't know that either, it is probably a very expensive option!

It's amazing how rich the world is today, that there are enough people that are able to buy this car, that they are actually increasing production, I thought they'd find it hard to sell the 60 cars a year!

I wasn't aware of that. Frankly, I can't believe it without seeing proof. Bugatti's engineers has enough trouble acheiving 1001PS!

Certainly is. When the McLaren F1 was brought out, I recall Gordon Murray (and company) had much trouble selling them. Here we are 10+ years later and the concept of a million dollar car isn't so absurd after all.

Don't know about the top speed but he said that Bugatti guarantees 1210hp, but said it can easily be around 1220-1230. He also said that they are testing a 1400hp version.

Christian, i'm just saying that if it was official, we'd hear and read about that. I'm saying for myself, i didn't hear that it's confirmed and that it can be ordered, the 1200hp version...

1400bhp, that's crazy!

I would have thought VW had relised that Veyron project was way over budget as it is, and now they are looking at increasing the power. Seeing as 1000bhp gives amazing performance figures, I'd like to see what an extra 400bhp would do.
