Deleting it alone will apparently yield a 15 hp increase. 240-250hp is available with the dpf gone and a remap that takes this into account. Revo are still working on theirs but a few smaller tuners are offering a map for it. All the dpf delete does is allow for a agressive remap, as before with the dpf and a aggressive remap, the dpf would only clog up and go into warning mode. Without the dpf the car smokes like a goodun. Has the 335d got a dpf? Never heard of a bmw with dpf issues like VAG and the french manufacturers are having! Im sure we will run into each other one day. Im planning a summer which will be spent primarliy at the track and the strip!

No german brand offer a new car without DPF! All new diesel models have them! When we get our E 280 CDI at the end of 2005 there was a possibilty to remove DPF - the car would have cost around 500 € less! But right now, especially because CO2 etc, the Euro X norms - you don't get a diesel without these!

Hi Pov, The 335d does have a DPF standard yes. I dont think I could live with smoke otherwise. It would be embarrasing nailing and leaving your opponent in a cloud of soot. The 335i has far dirtier tail pipes than the 335d which is quite funny. Me 2 regarding track and strip. Im next at the Drag strip (Santa Pod) February. and again in March, Track day probably April. You will be running your Seat yes? what mods? ![]() Carlos

Having seen some highly tuned fabia vrs and ibiza cupra tdi's I think the soot is cool, cause whichever car you will just have left behind will know that they just got beat by a diesel. Apparently removing the dpf on the tdi 170 also increases the mpg. Im going santa pod 1st of feb for the inter forum shootout. Wont be on the strip myself though, just going to watch. A 1.4 laden down with a bootful of ice wouldnt be alot of fun. Will probably try to get to the pod again in march as I should hopefully have my new car by then. Pretty sure it will either be a 335i or mk2 Leon Cupra. S3 ruled out due to understated looks. TT-S too as dont want to get hit with the depreciation. By may whatever car I get, it should be tuned by then ready for the track. Might do the 'ring this year also! Do you know by any chance what time the E46 M3 does the 1/4 mile in? I wonder if people will ever remove the dpf of a 335d. It would probably be quicker than a 335i then by some margin. How much torque has your car got in NM by the way?

I did the ring last year and it was superb, keep me updated when you are going. Good luck with the new car purchase, the 335i is a cracking car the leons go well too when modded. I have 530ibs of torque, not sure what that is in NM, E46 M3's vary from 13.5-14 secs passes. Aa good driver can get a good time out of one because if launched perfectly then can get the power down well with the M diff.

![]() The E46 does better times than I thought it would. Just converted your cars torque figures to nm and its over 700nm! ![]() Will let you know about the 'ring. BTW do you know how the bmw 335 auto tranny works? Is it a normal oldschool auto or does it allow the driver to change gears also?

Its still an auto in a traditional sense, but the ZF box is a good'un. Shifts quickly and adapts to your driving style. I have paddle shifters on the steering wheel. So can shift as and when required. ![]()
