Because these cars were driven from Munich to Miramas , So the 7er falls under BMW new product protocol which means a slight camouflage.

IMHO the "NightVision" type twin kidney grille (as seen on a silver car) is a MUST.

Much more sovereign & powerful than the standard kidneys - which are more understated & classy.

A bit bolder vertical bars would look even better.

One more thing ... with the upcoming Granturismo being enormously expensive than the 7er ... I think the difference will be not worth the price in terms of design IF it looked like the CS ...

The exterior definitely will. It was confirmed by Herr Draeger (BMW Chief of Development) in the latest AMS interview.

Although some details will be changed to make them production-ready: bigger side mirrors, front bumper with central air intake, different rear bumper with red reflectors, different (more practical wider boot lid opening), classical exterior door handles, non-chrome wheels, different rearlight & headlight cluster graphics, side chromed gill will have different graphics.

Interior will be also much more "productionized" - although the CS design cues will be used.

The most delicate thing here are the door handles. I'm not sure where the handle on rear door will be positioned - since the shoulder character crease bows down. Perhaps the crease will be in one piece, or the door handle will be positioned elsewhere (perhaps even hidden in the Hofmeisterknick).

PS: The base price for CS won't be much above price level of fully loaded F02 LWB 7er with same motorization (V8 & V12 only, hybrid possible, no diesel in the first phase).
Mind that in Germany base E65 760Li costs 127k Euros (tax included), the special editions cost up to 136k Euros ... and you can opt optional equipment for several thousands Euros.

So, expect base eg. 860i (CS 60i) to be priced at about at least 160k Euros. Somewhere in CL range.

The new Z8 will be somewhere in SL / R8 range: 110k for V8 model.

Yes the door handles concern me too .. that character line made it harder to place a door handle ...

I prefer the standard kidneys, imo they look more sporty than the night vision type. Is there any technical reason why the night vision grill is different from the normal one?
