AdvEvo, its all about sales, BMW wouldnt sell many M3 if it was as hardcore as you want it. Sure, the M3 gets bigger and heavier but they also get more powerful and the handling is no worse than before. M3 CSL is for people like you but you guys are unfortuanly a minority therefore you wont see a standard M3 being harcore as the old days.
Sales, money, sales, money, sales, thats more important these days.

At porsche you can order A gt3 rs with a roll cage. A csl is no hardcore if you compare it with that. But the csl package is perfect just the price is a little on the high side.

E30 M3 is not so hardcore either. You can make it hardcore if you want.

At bmw they always said better 1000kg then 1000hp. A 1500kg car has nothing to do with a sporting drive.

Lots bmw fans would like to see a 2 series which does remind you to the E30 m3.

They don t have to make it hardcore just make the base lightweight. a 130i is not a lightweight either. but it s the lightest you can get with the most power and 4 seats. that s why is i bought it. But it s still 100kg to heavy.

If new M cars weigh over 1500kg i think i stop buying cars and go playing chess and light my fireplace with 500 euro banknotes.

Weight is one of the things I've beed complaining about BMW for a while.
But shock, even Ferrari's weight over 1700 kilos.

Problem is that there all sorts of regulations on safety and so on witch makes car heavier combined with the industry trend/need for constantly larger cars.

And than there's costs.

From what I've heard BMW are working on some Al - Mg - Foam space frame or whatever to cut weight.

I voted for the 2er, but I'll switch my vote for the E92. One less for the 2er, one more for the 3er.

If the M6 counts, then that car gets my vote. It is great looking and has tremendous presence.

If I had to scale it down, then 335i hands down.

Re: BMW coupes: Z4, 2er, 3er, or 6er???

3 series coupe gets my vote cause it doesn't only drive well but it also looks nice. 6 series would be my second choice after that.

I would never choose Z4 coupe cause it's repulsive (in my opinion).
