![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It will, but I am sure the engineers have managed to minimise such effects. The weight distribution of most cars isn’t perfectly symmetrical anyway. For example transverse front engine cars like the EVO have a slightly uneven weight distribution between the left and right side. Both E46 and E36 as well as the M version, and previous generations of BMW (I am no BMW expert, can't name them all) all have their inline engine tilted from the center line.

![]() | Wen BMW started turbo charging the fan boys took alot of flak from the rest of the brigade cos we would rub it in their faces that they had to turbo charge just to achiev same power outputs from BMW NA engines. Dont get me wrong the competition have some amazing engines and BMW do not make the best engines in the world (however that is debateable) but this new range of turbo charging is just amazing and makes you wonder how the competition will respond. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Take special note that the picture used in the dubious Motor Authority article (and on their own webpage) posted by CarGuy depicts the twin-turbo N54 and not the N55. I'm amazed that no-one picked that up. It seems that Motor Authority are no authority whatsover these days... Furthermore the article is incorrect when it states that the N54 features valvetronic. It does not. The primary uniqueness of this engine lies in the first ever combination of a twin-scroll turbocharger + DI + Valvetronic and on a straight six to boot. A landmark engine - watch this space. This is the best detailed picture of the location and ducting for the N55's twin-scroll turbo: ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I saw the link, and the photo and knew the article is rubbish and doesn't worth my effort to mention it.
