![]() | I applaud them going back to the 6 cylinders. In fact, the M3 now having a V8 still feels wrong and strange (no matter how good that V8 is). What worries me is this V6 talk. I hate V6 engines. I6 allll the way.

Maybe this is just me, but V6 to me spells "dull" and "could not afford a V8", whereas an inline six is something found in nimble sportscars.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't know whats the best I6 or V6. I dont care either. But it's a shame if bmw break tradition by building V6 and giving up on I6 engines. I6 always been a trademark. I6 are lighter than a V6 and V6 are better for the balance? It must be easier to fix the weight balance on the car than making the car lighter? If BMW are going to build lighter cars , then I think its better to keep the I6.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | As per usual the dumbfuck Internet media take everything out of context from the original source. Suggestions about a V6 or that only suggestions , The six cylinder under development to be the showcase for the Z10 is in fact inline six, Justme figured out the problem that BMW are adhering to without the resort to a V6 . There are other ways to bring down weight without resorting to drastic measures. There is no V6 in development within BMW currently. As for the future who knows? But like anything else such ideas would be on BMW's terms and challenge the convention of a typical V6. Right now I have to get back to my beach holiday. Check the X1 thread. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | some publications do that to steer controversy. Our original article had no mention of a V6, but within 30 min, I received 4 emails asking us if it's true what they read somewhere else, so we ended up editing the article to mention that it's a rumor and that's all. Not all of us are "dumbf..." ) Some media really looks for those little things that create more buzz...Here is the funny part, last year, we published an article talking about four twin-turbo engines, high revs and also future quad-turbo engines....Guess what? Everyone called us liars and tried to put us down...so we had to suck it up for a year, and now all of a sudden, everyone gets excited about the new four-cyl twin turbo coming to 135i Supersport anyway, how was Chicago? Where did you stay? Quote:

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You know my feelings on journalists or media who do not even bother to research or investigate. As I have currently stopped for lunch because of the slight overcast over Santa Monica , affecting our photography, another team has been in Chicago remember some of our scenes do not involve us to bring a car along. Tonight we involve some driving involving "Pursuit" along the coast. YouTube - Pursuit Systems |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't see how this quote could be out of context unless it's not what Willisch actually said: "The question is will it be a V-6 or an inline six. And we simply are looking at the best solution for the car. The V-6 has the possibility to move the engine further downwards, towards the bulkhead, whereas the inline six is lighter. But as it looks right now, in order to have the right power output, we have to do a lot of work on the test beds to see where we can go." Best regards, south |
