Well for a start the F01 is assembled in Germany Vs USA for the X6 .. believe me it is different. I know it might sound unprofessional but thats the truth ..

^ Why is that? I never understand why the American-assembled cars are constantly being criticized for their difference in quality -- I don't understand this.

I don't know Rob, maybe as Tarek said, local suppliers or maybe lousy workers ? I dunno, my 7 series felt better put together than the X6.

I used to love the X6, but here facing the 7er... I think EnI sums it up: it's a "pre-new-era" Beemer.

I would say: the X6 is a Bangle-Beemer, even if improved. The 7er is back to BMW spirit, it oozes BMW from every angle.

So maybe I would say, the 7er is not a new era, it's the contrary, going back to what BMW was about: class, cat-like, elegant yet sporty. Proportions made the greatness of the car, not a myriad of surfaces and detailing.

7er easily here. I begin to love it (just this damn interior is messing things up). It's so good to see a Beemer again, after all this time!!

Re: Luxury BMWs: X6 xDrive50i or new 750i?

Easy choice IMO, the new 7 er for me.
First of all I am not a big SUV/SAV or whatever fan, so even if the X6 is the best looking there is, I would go for the 750i. Specially seen the story around it. I read numerous arguments in favour of the 7 and I second most of them. The X6 is ment for people that want to be 'in' by driving a SAV/SUV but still want to drive it like a sportscar, not for executive purposes
