Re: Rumormill: BMW working on twin-turbo four-cylinder?

This is really the stuff that keeps me jazzed about BMW more than any other marque; BMW is always ahead of the pack seeking out new ways to innovate and maintain a leadership position in engineering, design, etc. Makes my rant about BMW's arrogance sound hypocritical, but I guess to some degree that arrogance is founded on reason. I'm stoked, BMW bring it on!!!! Oh yeah, and to hell with caring about increased oil change intervals! This is simply too good of news that can't possibly be frowned upon.

Turbo'd engine revving up to 11k? Doesn't sound convincing to me.

But from a master of engines you can expect anything...

Re: Rumormill: BMW working on twin-turbo four-cylinder?

Such an engine would definitely lower the base price of the 1-Series, which quite frankly isn't "entry-level" priced at all here in the U.S.

Good to know that M-Division will also get the Efficient Dynamics. From what I read on E60 M5 owners in forums, they are unhappy with the poor mileage.

Re: Rumormill: BMW working on twin-turbo four-cylinder?

It's about time that BMW comes with an I4 turbo, every single camparison between BMW's current I4 and VAG I4 turbo, is won by the latter (even if it is the 1.4 tsi)!

I seriously don't see any pioneering in turbocharging ur whole line up of engines, pretty normal IMO.
