Still one of the shortest ones.

BMW
X5 xDrive35d

Mercedes-Benz
ML 320 CDI 4Matic

Audi
Q7 3.0 TDI Quattro

VW
Touareg 3.0 TDI

Porsche
Cayenne Turbo

I guess debadging will be very popular ...

Re: BMW at Detroit Auto Show - NAIAS 2008

Right. The only difference is that with those you get the engine size before you get all the other junk. ML320 for example. I can't imagine that whole xdrive35 will be written on the vehicle?

X6, X5, X3, Z4 badges will still be positioned on the boot lid.
While the new badges (engine & drive designation ... eg. xDrive35d, sDrive30i) will change the existing ones ( eg. 3.0sd , 3.0si) on the front doors / flanks:

eg. xDrive50i (X6)

Not at Detroit , but Geneva?...

BMW have a few concept ideas up their sleeves for future viewing first will be a preview.... then a Progressive Activity Sedan , Sport Activity Sedan (X1 preview- But not for 1er programme) a Roadster in both small and larger formats and my favourite - Progressive Activity Coupe - Think a shooting brake 3er with seating for four...

Then there will be ideas for MINI and Rolls-Royce...

Re: BMW at Detroit Auto Show - NAIAS 2008

Hmm, a shooting brake 3er is something I'd like to see... actually, that's the type of "crossover" vehicle I've been hoping BMW would produce before the others.
BTW scott, didn't you mention that SAS (or sport activity sedan) would be the designation reserved for X4 (or possibly X2)?
