Re: Interview with Norbert Reithofer

Interesting points:
  • EfficientDynamics solutions will soon find a way into BMW SAVs and other models in BMW product portfolio (in max 2 years)
  • BMW very determined to lower fuel consumption & gas emissions in BMW Group vehicles without compromising the performance
  • BMW to offer mild hybrids in the near future (also diesel hybrids very possible!) in various models
  • SCR Clean Diesel will be offered in 2008 (US market)
  • 1er model family, and MINI model family will grow further (new models on the way)
  • mini-SAV (X1) possible (seriously considered)
  • RFK coming soon, mini-RFK possible (decision independent from RFK market success - meaning: decision for mini-RFK will be made before RFK hits the showrooms)
  • BMW brand needs a "brandshaper" product - a low-volume super-sports car BMW already had in the past (M1 and Z8), and such car will be offered in the near future
