I'm utterly confused Rob, because you have such informed opinions... every time a discussion comes up regarding this car I feel as though I'm seeing a completely different car. Not just figuratively - but like... maybe my web brower is broken or something.

I feel the same way..i don't know why but for some reason the Continental line up is not very liked in this forum..seriously..pictures do no justice to the cars..But again beauty is in the eye of the beholder...personally I love the GT, CTC and the FS I think looks a bit weird but still love it. Everytime I see one I wonder what it's not to like?..Yet everytime the car is mentioned it's very rare to hear someone saying something good about it in this forum

Well personally, for me Josh, it is not a matter of thinking this car lacks presence or finesse, but rather a matter of it lacking a real feeling of "Britishness" about it. Now some might consider that to be a good thing in some ways, Bentley has improved almost beyond recognition under German ownership -- and that would be my problem with it, I don't sense any real connection with Bentley's illustrious past -- I see a lot of VW/Audi, but not much Bentley.

Here is the Bentley Java concept which was first shown in 1994 while Bentley was still owned by Vickers plc, they had to abandon the project due to financial realities. Even back in the early 1990s there was the desire to build a smaller more "affordable" Bentley model. As you can see, the Arnage eventually inherited much of the [rear] styling. The dash/fascia of this concept eventually was used as the blueprint for the Continental GT.

The difference is, although this concept does look a little dated now, it still seems to me to be a much more authentic Bentley design than that of the Continental GT -- however, I am glad to see the future of this great marque is much more secure under VW's stewardship than it has been for many years.

I agree, I agree Rob! The only thing that makes me nervous is the pending Arnage platform and all its derivatives replacements.
