Even the hottest cars, the most exclusive ones with the most traditional names and the highest prices need things as banal as a facelift if their manufacturers want to avoid a midlife crisis. And even these aforementioned cars need petrol at times – a lot of petrol that is. When both things come together, there’s time enough for our spies to take a closer look, grab the camera and shoot.


The result you can see here: the first shots of the facelifts of the Bentley Continental GT and Continental Flying Spur. Both will get slightly modified front bumpers and air-intakes plus revised interiors.


The 6.0-litres W12 Twin Turbo powerplants will be left unchanged though – no matter what the petrol bill and the global climate might say...

Ya im probably going to get killed by people who think they have to many buttons or something crazy like that.

I have to admit I like these cars more than I used to, they do look better IRL. The only thing is they don't have much character or presence compared to older Bentleys.

These new wheels are so much better than the current ones on offer. They improve the appearance of this car a great deal.

Finally some face lift spy shots. Eventhough the CGT is an attractive car it looks very bland latetly and doesn't have the same presence as the CL, 911 Turbo or even the M6.

Anyone else think that the front bumper looks even worse? The car has such a stupid grin

Overall, I think it is a fantastic car ....but I would choose a 911 way before it. The CL is very nice, but I don't think it is as beautiful now as I did at first -- the M6 is still much more fascinating to look at.

I'm still baffled and bemused by the legions of car fanatics who dislike the styling of the GT and Flying Spur. Two great looking cars and a good move by VAG to break out of the stuffy restraints provided by the marque's history.

Good think they're so attractive because the practically litter the streets of West LA. They've almost become "yawn" material.
