Top 10 of the most powerful production Audis

This is a discussion on Top 10 of the most powerful production Audis within the The Audi Lounge forums, part of the Audi category; Yes of course Nicholai, I agree. And surely we can expect 500 hp+ from the forthcoming RS6? What you're saying ...

What you're saying is purely speculative Luw...

Well the RS6 having more power than 500hp wouldn't be a problem since the car doesn't even inflict the Lamborghini terrotory but the R8 is a very Gallardo-like car and don't think that Audi would like to(or are allowed) to slap VAG and Lamborghini in the face with a sportscar which close to as superb as the Gallardo.
It would be disastrous if an Audi bet a Lamborghini on a track.

The RS6 will have 520 hp according to some sources and 550 hp according to some others so you are wrong Luw.

The upcoming R8 is possible to have more than 520 hp also. Some people claim that it will be the first diesel powered supercar with a diesel V12 similar to the one Audi is using in the R10.

Believe me.. Audi will break the 500 hp limit with several cars. I am 100% sure about that. Just look at the mark now! They are going so much forward. They even want to enter F1. The R8 will defenitely have over 550 hp and the RS6 will easily break the 500hp limit. Otherwise, it wouldnt make any sense...

The speculations/rumours of Audi joining F1 are getting bigger and bigger. I think it would be wonderful. Lambo in F1 does not sound as good to me.

Re: Top 10 of the most powerful production Audis

This entire issue rests whether or not Lamborghini could ever have forced induction. The idea of NA engines seems rigid to the Italian supercar marques these days, but the Germans - especially MB - have combined big capacity and forced induction to generate some big numbers.

If Audi is to compete against MB, then it may have to go the FI route...and that may mean Lamborghini could need to follow suit for some models in order to retain an edge...
