First: Latest Media Releases - NSW Police Force Police in Sydney’s east are appealing to the public following the carjacking of a vehicle at Clovelly overnight. A 40-year-old man arrived at his Arden Street home about 2:40am this morning and parked his grey Audi RS4 sedan in his rear yard. Police have been told as the man activated the remote controlled roller door on his rear fence, three men wearing hooded jumpers pushed it up and entered his yard. The men allegedly made demands for the man’s car keys and after a short physical struggle, the men took the keys to the car and left the scene in the Audi RS4. While the man was physically restrained during the struggle, he was not injured during the incident and the men did not produce a weapon. The vehicle allegedly stolen during the incident has been described to police as a 2006 model blue Audi RS4 sedan bearing NSW registration plates BHU-82M. Police are seeking public assistance in an attempt to locate those responsible for the carjacking. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that might assist investigators is urged to contact Maroubra Police Station on 9349 9299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Anyone seeing the vehicle is asked not to approach it and to call Triple Zero (000) immediately. Then: ![]() Sydney ATM bandits strike again - National - smh.com.au Masked men blew up three ATMs across Sydney early this morning, attacking machines in Clovelly, Chester Hill and Guildford, police said. The thieves who attacked the ATM in Clovelly in Sydney's east also reportedly stole a car from a nearby street after their Audi getaway car was damaged by the gas-fuelled blast, leaving them stranded. The Bendigo Bank, on Clovelly Road at the intersection of Mount Street, was the first ATM to be hit. Four men blew up the street-front ATM using gas cylinders about 1.45am, sending glass and debris flying as far as the other side of the road. The ATM and the front of the bank were destroyed. In the explosion, the thieves' dark grey Audi getaway car parked at the front of the bank was also damaged, forcing them to abandon it, police said. A nearby resident, who did not want to be named, said two girls saw the attempted robbery. The girls saw two masked men run down Fern Street towards Marcel Avenue and the other two men run east down Clovelly Road, he said. The resident later heard police saying a car had been stolen by two men near Fern Street and they had got away. A police spokeswoman could not confirm reports the car was stolen in a carjacking. Police established a perimeter around the bank and told neighbours to evacuate their homes until the gas cylinders in the boot of the car were deemed safe. Police closed Clovelly Road as well as several surrounding streets and conducted Polair and dog squad searches throughout the early hours of this morning. It is understood police have now allowed residents back inside their homes and some roads have been reopened. About the same time as the Clovelly blasts, another group of three masked men blew up an ATM at a bank on Waldron Road at Chester Hill in Sydney's west. Police said the ATM and the front section of the bank were significantly damaged and the area was cordoned off while officers investigated. The three men, also using an Audi, but this time silver, as a getaway car, then escaped, police said. The third attack in the space of half an hour happened about 2.15am, with men this time targeting an ATM at the front of a physiotherapist shop on Guildford Road at Guildford in Sydney's west, police said. Guildford Road between Cross and Station streets was cordoned off. A staff member at the store said the blasts had smashed glass at the front, but had not caused much structural damage and that the business would operate as normal today. ---------------------

This isn't the only case, I can remember at least 3 other cases where an RS4 was reported being carjacked and later used as a get away car. The thieves usually burn the cars afterwards. A red RS4 Avant was captured by the security camera during a bank or jewellery robbery a month ago. This has been happening for a few months now, and the police are absolutely useless. No arrest have been made, in fact it doesn't seem like they have any clue to who these people are.
