Audi Q3, Q1, A1, S1 in Works, But Not All for U.S. - Car News

Audi continues to wage its legal battle with Nissan for the right to use the Q3 name for its small crossover, a baby brother to the Q5. Nissan, which once had the Q45 as its Infiniti flagship, claims ownership of the letter Q.
Progress is good, says Michael Dick, Audi's member of the board of management for technical development. He expects success, and while the contract has not been signed, he is confident the small SUV will be able to use the name Q3 in the end.
The good news for the legal team: there’s still time. While Dick won’t tell us when the Q3 will go on sale, he does say it is at least two years out.
Going down a size, Dick says he could imagine the Q1 crossover in North America, but no decision has been made. The trucklet is in the early design phase and is at least 54 months from production, he says.
What will not go on sale in the U.S. are the tiny A1 and S1, including the Sportback concept unveiled at the 2008 Paris auto show. Such a small vehicle for North America is “conceivable,” but not in the plan, Dick says.
