IMO theese cars are all about luxury comfort..and power..and power is a bit low..for such a long development time..and compared to the competition its low to..and if it looks like that..its a bit lame to.. it should be more agressive...
Artist Im not talking about laptimes either. You seem to think that is all I care about. Im talking about the total package and 0-100 means very little.
0-XXX doesnt mean much, its how fast the car is in speed like 80-120, 50-140 , 100-200 and so on. Im certain that the S8 will beat the A8 W12 in those speeds. Also the S8 will be more fun to drive and handle better than A8 W12.
You could say that A8 and S8 are the same for instance like SL600 and SL55, S8 and SL55 will be a sportier choice but almost as fast as A8 and SL600 while SL600 and A8 will be more comfortable.

another nice expression: "Power is nothing without control"

What do you mean?

Do i need to remind that M5 already uses a V10 engine (that is also very similar in specs to Lambo's V10). A8 has the weight advantage over any other car in it's segment since it's made from aluminium. That means that the weight of the S8 should be close to the weight of M5. If Audi uses the 520 hp Gallardo engine the performance of the S8 will be close to M5 , both straight lines and in track.

Re: Audi S6 and Audi S8 ready for launch !!

I dont care if its as fast as the W12..the S55 was as fast if not slower in straight line speed than the S600.. so thats not the prob..the prob is that the competition had this kind of speed and power on outgoing modells..and i expected more cause it took so long time to make the car...but still its a damn fast car..no doubt..but im disappointed..

Re: Audi S6 and Audi S8 ready for launch !!

I can't believe that Audi will make a 450 hp only S8. Less that 500 hp will simply leave the car behind the competition. I hope for Gallardo's V10 engine with 520 hp or Bentley GT's W12 engine with 550 hp.

I think he mean that the V10 should only belong to the Gallardo and not Audi.
The only BMW with a V10 and is M5 and M6, BMW dont own a company like Lamborghini or Ferrari so its not a problem that M5 use a v10. Thats what I think Klier mean.

BTW I dont think S8 will be fast as a M5 on a track, than that mean the S8 might beat the RS6 as well. I dont think Audi will build the S8 to be meant for the track like the M5 or the Rs-versions. There is a difference between S and RS versions.

no, but RS is more track-orinted than S and M versions are more track-orinted than non M cars and M cars are more trackorinted than S but it doesnt mean they are a proper trackcar, (for instance like M3 CSL and 911 GT3).

Im sorry if I used words that confused you.

Re: Audi S6 and Audi S8 ready for launch !!

Don't forget that Audi owns Lamborghini. I have no doubt that Audi engineers are behind Gallardo's V10 although it's not something they want to say loudly. Gallardo's body is made of Aluminium just like A8's and Audi is responsible for that too. When you have the know how it would be stupid not to use it. I read that Audi is right now at least 5 years ahead of any other company in the world when it comes to Aluminium technology so why no use that advantage to Lamborghini too? Same goes with the engine. Audi doesn't steal the engine from Lambo. It was them who helped create the engine in the first time.

I know where you mean but its not like Audi people fired the Lambo people to take over their work

When Audi took over Lambo was nearly bankrupt. Audi has provided the resources that have lead them to the best position they ever had in their history.
