Let us bow our heads in prayer for the chance to possibly (a faint chance now I know!) see the awesome BMW M V10 inside an Aston Martin DBS! If you don't want to build your own high end coupes BMW, let Aston Martin do it for you.

I pray Benz gets Aston and not BMW. BMW makes to many excuse why they "cannot" do something. Benz just gets it done with out question.

BTW I thought Benz and Aston suppose to be working together on a few "possible" projects? I remember reading or posting an article about it a while back.

What are dire situation. The Arabs who have been saving everyone from bankruptcy are now in trouble themselves. Government hands outs, acquisitions and merger trains have all past, especially for the troubled auto industry.

Mercedes are in the process of ironing out their economy and VAG have near overlapping car brands. BMW is best in shape to acquire AM.

This makes no sense to me. If you talk about a super sports coupe even more so. Not everything in the "car world" has to happen immediately. BMW is building a sustainable line up incase you haven't noticed and that is in my mind getting the job done considering the current economic and climate environments. When the others play catch up, BMW is set to reap the rewards of delaying its inevitable sports car, what ever that shall be. Having a sustainable and 'climate' responsible lineup is the biggest and most important. "something to do," at the moment.

I know that the hideous Lagonda concept was based on the GL...and apparently AM is going to be using the S-Class platform for certain future projects.

Aston Martin would be a great addition to MB, although I don't believe that a takeover of Aston Martin is imminent.

But if it ever does happen, I'd love to see what the people who made the SLS and the people who made the One-77 can dream up together.

Yep, AM and Benz would be a perfect fit. Hmm...especially if they do decide to get rid of Maybach. Aston could help fill the void. I guess we will have to wait and see...

In the end Indians or Chinese will get it.

Tata will be a perfect buyer.

Tata for economy cars (incl. micro-cars), Jaguar as premium car brand, LandRover for premium SUVS & crossovers, Aston Martin for ultra-luxury sports cars, Lagonda for ultra-luxury sedans.

Getting Volvo as well - and Tata can revive PAG division as it existed back then at Ford.

Tata is having their fair share of problems with JLR already so I doubt they are very eager to add more high-investment brands in their portfolio.

And the Chinese? I don't think they're ready to own a brand like AM yet. We'll see what happens when/if Geely gets the Volvo deal done though.
