Gotta say. mixed feelings about this car! First of all the stance and the color are there, it is a sexy car! The two things i really dislike about the car are the hood and the wheels. if only made simpler... like this:

It's pretty sure enough, but as a complete package I don't rate it. A 4.7 litre V8 Vantage is the more complete buy and close enough performance to this V12. See they said that the V12 engine is 100 kg heavier than the V8? An extra 100 kg for just 380 kW? So, then they go on to say that this car is just 50 kg heavier due to extensive use of lightweight materials. So why not do the same thing with a V8 Vantage and tune the engine to make a bit more power, resulting in a Vantage RS or something. I don't rate Aston's V12. It's old fashioned and doesn't make good specific power relative to its weight or capacity. So, to plump a big, heavy V12 into this car is a largely superficial exercise.

Put it this way, a 911 GT3 MKII has 2 litres less capacity and half as many cylinders and yet, it's as fast (or faster), lighter and dynamically superior. Great car, you'd be lucky to own one but it falls short of being remarkable.

I'm glad you share my sentiment Martin. Housing a V12 under that hood is like installing an elevator in a caravan.

Slicing the weight of the normal version would have enticed potential customers even more. And with every other manufacturer turning their backs on V12s this is a highly unorthodox move by AM when cars with fewer cylinder and less displacement offer competitive power output.
