Hmm..just a question:
It says the Volt will get 60 miles per gallon on (obviously) the gas engine. But is that combined? Meaning: you go 40 miles on the overnight charge, and then in the next 20 miles you use a gallon of gas recharging the batteries..?
Or is it that, once you hit the 40 mile point, the gas engine kicks in and in the next 60 miles you only use 1 gallon of gas..? For an 'actual' 100 mile per gallon average?

I think I answered my own question
On TopGear it says, "Even with the engine cycling to keep the batteries at constant charge, the Volt will do about 60mpg."
So, essentially, the car will be able to go 60 miles on the power/electricity one gallon of gas is able to produce?
