Like Rob said, it is more hatch than coupe. The side profile of the car reminds me of the MB C-class coupe or the CLC. It isn't pretty and I think the front end design can be better resolved, all the sharp lines and angles sit together rather uncomfortably, they are all fighting for your attention. The vertical headlights makes the front end appear very tall and thick, almost SUV like, which isn't appealing for a coupe.

If you liked the Cadillac CTS Coupe Concept and feel that your garage is incomplete without one in it, well, you're gonna be able to scratch that itch next year. Inside Line reports that the concept will go into production in mid-2009 as a 2010 model. Expect the same general shape as the show car, albeit with some detail tweaks to make it production-friendly. The most obvious ones will be the addition of an integrated rear spoiler with a CHMSL and the conversion from the stylized center-outlet exhaust to something more traditional, like the CTS sedan's dual tips. We're betting it'll be deja vu all over again next January in Cobo as the usual suspects reconvene to drive the production CTS coupe (CTC, maybe?) onto the very same stage that welcomed the concept. And General, don't forget to drop in the LSA and do a 2-door V-Series while you're at it.

I totally agree. it`s only a concept though. If the production version turns out like that it will be a mess... Maby Cadillac wants to compete with the CLC. After all the CTS is a C-Class 3-Series compeditor.

The coupe version of the Cadillac CTS, shown as a - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER at the recent NAIAS, has been confirmed to start production in June 2009. At the time it goes for sale as a 2010 model, the price tag should be lower than the current XLR roadster’s price tag, making it the cheapest two-door in Caddy’s lineup. The most logical nameplate for the car is CTC, but anything like CTS Coupe, CTS-C or even the CT name of the concept may end up glued on the decklid.

Fortunately, the basic fastback shape and sharp lines of the concept are said to remain unchanged, so the front end, fenders, exhaust and rear spoiler will only get minor revisions in the final production model. As Cadillac is one of the few GM brands with a single design theme, fans of the Detroit steel around the world will be certainly glad of this reincarnation of the personal luxury car.

However, we can expect the CTS-V’s and Corvette’s 6.2L unit in a similarly styled V-Series edition. Direct injection and E85 technologies would be needed to help GM comply with the new CAFE regulations, and there are even plans for a six-cylinder diesel unit as well.
