Notice that the car in the photos is a right-hand-drive car, so it definately cannot be a US version. I think Edmunds just decided to do a feature on an Aussie car..... and I have to say it's a true-blue Aussir brute!! Looks menacing as hell... only one of a handful of cars that looks great with that huge wing planted on the rear deck! Under the bonnet it only gets better!! ..But as the article states, the new Holden VE Commodore (subsidiary of GM) will outclass the Falcon. In fact, a local motoring magazine did a comparo of the Holden Commodore, MB E-class, and BMW 5er... and stated that the Holden had better steering and handling than the 5er .. but umm, I find that hard to believe. A case of patriotism gone too far there!
You are absolutely right buddy, what I said is, Ford needs to put/introduce some sensational cars like that in American market to stay there, as we all know, Ford is almost "gone" in America ...!

This generation of the Ford Falcon was never engineered for left hand drive markets, however Ford Australia did conisder offering this car to the US, but it was rejected because it is too small for the American market. I guess the Falcon is relatively small when it is compared to a Ford Crown Victoria.

If Vauxhall VXR-8 can be dressed (RHD to LHD) to sell in American market as Pontiac G8, why it's hard for Ford ...? And I heard rumors of FPV launch in America too...! Both, VXR-8 & FPV are performance sedans, carrying V8 powerplant & identical chasis...!

G8 is gonna be a big hit is US market & the reason is, it's been very long time since last rear-drive compact performance (American) sedan & there is room for a rival ...!
