One of their execs was likely drunk at an industry party and just put that out there to stir up some attention. Acura hasn't a snowball's chance in hell of competing with Bentley and Maybach in anything they do best.

Acura makes good cars, but this is just ridiculous.

Acuras are nothing more than Euro-spec Hondas with a poncy badge and name. Whoever announced this, clearly was on the loopy juice or smoking a Two ton joint.

"a snowball's chance in hell" No matter how many times I hear that phrase, it still makes me laugh!

Acura is trying to line-up next to monsters, with class of their own, like Bentley & Maybach with "FWD" line-up ...!

Good joke, makes you laugh & pisses off your neighbor, who owns a Legend coupe & thinks of it, as a sports car ...!

Gets worse when you've got this tosser in your job, who actually bought the new Legend and annoy the hell out of everyone in the company and in the Pub after work, boasting how reliable his big Honda is compared to a BMW 5-Series.

Weirdly he doesn't tell the same to our boss who owns a 550i.

It's quite simple, really. Bentley, Rolls Royce and Maybach have a long history of engineering, prestige and elegance. Anyone of these brands brings up memoirs of exotic and superbly engineered quality automobiles. Cars like the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow or Silver Spirit, Maybach Zeppelin etc. These brands have a name and they stand for something. They have heritage, class and are considered the best of the best.

Acura could never match this in a million years (I feel the same way about Lexus and Infiniti) no matter what they do. The brand Acura has no heritage and its prestige is less than Lexus (and Lexus in turn IMO has less prestige than BMW and Mercedes by far). What's an Acura? The average global citizen knows what a Bentley or Rolls is, or a Maybach, maybe even a Horch or Duesenberg? But Acura? What's that?

Sorry Acura, won't work.

I high doubt Horch or Duesenberg are more notiable on a global scale then Acura!
